Goodbye Monash
On Friday, 29 November 2024, we had an appointment with the doctor to find out the results of the past month's treatment, which included the third round of chemotherapy, a head examination, and a biopsy.
Praise God, the results were very encouraging. Leukemia was no longer found in the bone marrow, and the head X-ray results were also good.
The doctor also informed us that this would be our last visit to Monash Medical Center. On Tuesday, 3 December 2024, Sinyo will continue his treatment at Alfred Hospital, where he will undergo a stem cell transplant. He will be admitted for the transfer on 10 December 2024. We, as a family, would like to express our deepest gratitude to the entire team at Monash Hospital for their exceptional care and attention during Sinyo's treatment there.
Looking back, Sinyo underwent intensive hospital care for 31 days, from 13 August to 13 September. During this period, he received various necessary medical treatments, including initial chemotherapy, blood transfusions, and close monitoring of his condition. This treatment aimed to stabilize his condition and prepare him for the next stage of care. Throughout this period, I tried to accompany and provide full support to Sinyo.
During Sinyo's treatment, I was the primary caregiver. Meishia also came several times, especially when she was off work. However, we are also very grateful for the support given by our close friends. They came to provide encouragement and moral support, which meant a lot to us.
After the intensive hospital care, the treatment continued with daily home care (Hospital in the Home) for blood tests, the second and third rounds of chemotherapy, and other tests.
